Thistle is my character at the Highlands MLP RPG, and is basically a pony of my Scottish Heritage. Her colors are the same as those found on the Clan McBean tartan, and her symbol is from the clan badge, which is a wildcat holding a shield and says "touch not a cat but a targe" or "don't touch me unless you are ready to fight" (literal translation is "don't touch a cat without a shield"). Her background is a picture of the actual clan tartan, which has muted colors (I changed the opacity so she could be seen better), and her colors are supposed to be the same as those on the tartan (might I also point out that the shade of the color has no power in the tartan, its how many stitches each shade gets that determines the clan's tartan, so the fact that her purple is brighter than the tartan's is of no consequence). She carries an original Scottish Dirk (although I suck at drawing them) and is quite the fighter, both with the little dagger, her horn, and other weapons she carries from time to time.
